Community guidelines

The family thread in Small Hours is a private, invite-only space for the people you choose to share your baby’s journey with. It is meant to feel like a warm room full of family and close friends. A few simple guidelines keep it that way.

Be kind

Everyone here is supporting a family going through the NICU. Speak with warmth and respect. Encouragement, questions, and small everyday updates are exactly what this space is for.

What is not allowed

  • offensive, hateful, harassing, or threatening messages;
  • content that is sexual, violent, or otherwise harmful;
  • sharing someone else’s private information without their consent;
  • spam, scams, or advertising;
  • anything illegal.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour towards other members.

Reporting and removing content

Every message in the family thread can be acted on directly. Tap the options on a message to:

  • Report it, if you think it breaks these guidelines;
  • Hide it, so you no longer see it;
  • Delete your own messages, and, if you manage the family, anyone’s messages.

We review reports and act on them, usually within 24 hours. We may remove content and remove a member’s access for behaviour that breaks these guidelines.
